week 12

Useing facebook or myspace would be an interesting way to promote libraries. For the customers it would mean they could discuss books, recommended books, as a library capacity, yeah, it would work, connecting people together in a totally new way.

When I first started this course I was terrified & thought, no-way, this is going to be too hard, thankyou for making it simple & fun to learn new things on the net. I have thoroughly enjoyed this & please- more courses.
Cheers Wendy
Didn't realise there were so many free online tools available. They will definitely come in handy. Use Google Docs would be very useful in libraries, especially when meetings are coming up and just generally sharing information.

I had no idea about mashups & thought it was going to be hard, but no way, it was easy once I tried it.
Mashups could be used for promoting an event, town history, author visits, it has so many possibilities.
I found podcasts to be very interesting. What a great way to get teens involved in libraries. They could do book & game reviews, write their own stories, it's just endless. Podcasts would also be good for storytime, lectures, up & coming library events & news, book reviews & a lot more. Definitely the way to go.

week 8 slamming the boards

Slamming the boards would be very useful in a library capacity as people can jump online and find answers to their questions and they could also rate how useful the response was, so that librarians can know how to improve the site. Definitely something I would use to help answer a question.

Using Del.icio.us was challenging, but finally got there, (I think). Using something like this in libraries would be a great idea. Learning what great ideas other libraries have and finding information. Getting libraries to try Del.icio.us or Technorati or any other site would be worth a try.

Cheers

del.icio.us

Well,I 'm up to week 7. Finding this week a liitle harder than the others. Stopping and starting every few days has made it harder to remember everything I have learnt,so I'm going to practise, practise and practise.
